Blake waited the command, assuming that Gem was in charge of this mini-brigade. She seemed like she knew what she was doing more than the rest of them did. The other, Valdís, also seemed to have a plan. It was rather dumb of her to invest her magical abilities in the other red head, but Blake didn’t much blame her. It was nice of her to try, but it seemed inevitable. Roku was going to get pummeled, though honestly, Blake probably would too if he had to get close. Speaking of Roku, the fool was ripping his clothing off with a mighty yell. With that, the loser had been promoted to Super Weenie Hut Jr.
Tsking to himself, Blake steadied his hands and nodded to Gem, who had come up beside him at some point. “Can do, captain.” With her game plan, he felt they had a small shot at this. It didn’t much matter what Valdís did, as she seemed the most properly equipped with her axe. The only thing better than a war axe against a tree would probably be a chainsaw. Or a forest fire, but that wasn’t very plausible at the moment. He watched as she lunged forward, steading his sight as he prepared for the shot. What he wasn’t prepared for though, was the little scene that unfolded. Where Gem’s arm had been previously, a large blue organ stood instead. Peering over the gun to watch her, Blake caught her gaze, just barely registering the beginning of the command before she was gone, the Ent having thrown her with a sickening thud. “Gem! You okay? He called, dropping the faux-cool-kid façade for a moment as he was genuinely concerned for the girl he’d just met. As she got to her knees, albeit shakily, Blake turned his attention back to the walking tree.”Hey! You good-for-nothing bark-coated sap-covered fibrous trunk covered in photosynthesizing green shit!*” Growling, Blake waited a second more for the Ent to turn to him before firing both guns in quick succession. The bullets caught the Ent, but did nothing to slow it down. Well fuck.
He quickly readied his aim towards the next Ent, preparing to waste more bullets before glancing towards Valdís. Roku had taken to the bushes in his attempt to hide and wait out the attack. With a snarl, Blake glanced towards Roku’s hiding position. The asshole was hiding while Gem lay discarded on the ground. “Get the fuck out of there you goddamn baby! Didn’t you hear Valdís? We don’t have time for your pussy ass. You gonna run home to Mommy or are you gonna stand up and fight like a man? I realize you have a gut full of magic pudding but this is not your fucking nap time!”

Oh wait, yes he did. His sword was right there, he could grab it and possibly deal some damage to these giant wooden freaks. Putting himself in danger just to help others wasn't really his style though; hell, he didn't even want to be a part of this. He'd much rather curl up in a ditch in hopes that his souls would simply be forfeit by divine intervention. However, as he looked up from his hands, he noticed Gem being thrown into a tree. The ent had dealt a devastating blow to the girl who had willingly proposed the two of them be friends. She had even given Roku her phone number, he couldn't just let them get away with that... Could he?
"Alright, listen up, phony." He rose, back turned to the ongoing violence, Heart's Bane slung over his shoulder. He then turned and pointed, however his finger didn't meet in line with any of the ents. Instead his focus was entirely on Blake. It was his words that had really heated him up; he wasn't about to let some pretty boy show him up.
"You think you can do much more than me with those peashooters? Get real, dick." He sneered at the opposite redhead and spat upon the ground, stepping out from the foliage slowly. Roku then turned his head upwards and stared down the already injured ent with murderous intent. "Let me show you how a loser gets shit done!" He let out a firm shout before hacking his blade at the creature's leg, hoping more than anything that it actually managed to wound it.  IT'S HAPPENING
The ent currently engaged in combat with Roku Hasukara steps forward and attempts to crush him. If a dodge is not performed, it will deal 6 points of physical damage. The tree monster that had been harmed by Blake West's attack turned to face him, then opened its' ridged mouth open wide. A barrage of thorns was then spewed forth at high speeds directly towards the gunslinger. If a dodge or block was not performed, the attack would deal 2 points of magical damage and would be really annoying. The monster engaged with Valdís Raghild swiveled around and attempted to stomp on her, an attack that would deal 6 points of physical damage if not dodged. The creatures now think @gem to be dead and start ignoring her. Ent Stats

Pain. Nothing but pain. Pain ran through her body in torrents, lances of pain cut with undercurrents of something else. Anger. Anger at herself, anger at the Ents, and anger at her claw.
Thump
Anger. The pain was fading, the buring spikes running through her body being melted by a white hot stream of anger. Something in her arms began to take form, the previously flickering and small blue scales increasing in size.
Thump.
Power. She could feel it. The power of her Accel Claws as the finally took form, the deep thrum of energy rocking through her body. Her hearbeat sped up, pumping mana to her arms, the dark blue claws draining the energy even as she kneeled on the ground.
Thump thump.
Thump thump.
Gems eyes snapped open, the normally concealed irises blazing out from within her face, a bright yellow with two slits running through them. Slowly but surely she stood up, her head hanging down as her body rose from its position like a puppet hanging from some strings.

A jolt ran through her body, her head snapping up to stare at the ents, a dark rage building up inside of her, before being released in a primal scream. Her claws and feet were coated in a coat of fire, a deep blue color standing out, her legs seemingly turning into the same material as her claws. She pushed a foot against the tree behind her, her knees bending as she seemed to crouch on the trunk, completely parralel to the ground below her. A smoking crater was forming on the tree where she was standing, and her claws dug into the wood, charred gashes forming on the trunk.
"ACCEL GEAR!"
She burst forward, twisting in mid air to hit the Ent feet first, the flames spreading from her feet to cloak the Ent in a burning wreath of fire, before spring forward again, the combination of Accel Claws and Gear turning her into nothing but a blue blur, with a trail of flame left behind her in mid air. She slammed into the second one, setting it ablaze as well, before her eyes, burning with rage, turned to the last Ent.
"Accel..." She bent her knees, her right claw pointing in front of her. A millisecond passed, and she released, her legs springing forward to send her catapulting towards the last Ent, her right arm pulling back, the claws connecting together to make what seemed like a massive spike. "DRILL!" With a roar of what seemed like heaving machinery, the spike started to spin, small ridges appearing as the spikes semblance changed into a drill wreathed in flame.
With one last cry of rage, she slammed her drill into the Ent, piercing it to the very core. The Ents mouth opened in terror, before a gout of flame erupted from the inside. Gem stood up, the accel claws and gear fading away from her, the flames from the Ent she had just killed casting shadows around her. Her head swivelled around, looking at the carnage she had cause, and she turned to the others, a small smile on her face. "Sorry, but... Can you deal with the last two? I'm a little bit tired..." She swayed slightly, her eyes closing, before collapsing on the ground, falling into unconsciousness as the two remaing Ent burned, the flame starting to spread to the rest of the forest. @gem suddenly takes all of the aggro as the remaining two ents become....BURNING ENTS. This has, in fact, made them significantly weaker. One of the Burning Ents coughs up a large fireball and sends it towards @gem's tired body. If somebody in the party did not block for her, she would be anticlimactically incinerated.

Well it seemed that the Ents were just a touch stronger than the viking had anticipated. She gritted her teeth, however, as she was purely determined to at least take one of the trees out before being killed, which seemed more and more inevitable as time progressed. Which was ridiculous! She was a warrior, she had an axe, for crying out loud! Felled by a tree. That would be laughably ironic if it weren’t so stupid.
And so she engaged in a rigorous combat with a tree, and for a cat person, was pretty dogged about killing it ded, pun intended. But perhaps more importantly, she noticed, as she fought, Gem being flung like a ragdoll across the clearing. Well darn, there went their best hope. But, as luck would have it, from the bushes emerged her stalwart defender, and Valdis even cocked an eyebrow as the nerdy nerd nerdface responded rather harshly to Blake, before meagerly scratching an Ent’s leg. “You go, Roku! Show us how a loser does it! Even though that sounds really stupid… Just kill some trees, okay?!” And alas, as she was distracted by the ginger, she got stepped on by a tree.

It was a particularly strong stomp, and it took everything in her to present a barrier between the Ent’s crushing rootlegfootwhatever and the ground. She gave a rather fierce hiss, fangs bared now as she fought to avoid dying. But she refused to relent. “I will admit… For a- uhn. Tree, you’re pretty… Pretty lightweight! Hah! Haha… What, are you- hrng. Malnourished because- argh! Because your mommy was a- SONUVABITCHTHISHURTS- homeless crack whore?”

There we go, that was making her feel better already. If the tree understood English, it probably would have already run off, crying to its slutty ugly tree mom and the food stamps she sold for crack. Yeah, she’d have to come up with something else, something good, now, to really dig at the tree’s jimmies. Everyday, she rustlin’. Rustlin’, rustlin’. But it seemed that something else was happening.
Gem, or rather, the Comatose Punching Bag Formerly Known as Gem, otherwise known as , had risen to her feet and was apparently going all out on the Ents now. With a mighty last attempt at killing them dead, she brought down most of them, and Valdis felt the weight on her shoulders lighten as the one above her was set aflame. However, it was not yet over, as the tree shot a fireball right at the heroic Ms. Stone.
Much as she wanted to help her out after such heroics, it would be a disgrace to herself, these worthy adversaries, even if they were literal trees, and Gem, to take the bullet, or in this case, explosive ball of fire, for her. She doubted Gem could survive such a thing, and highly doubted that either of the other two were capable of taking such a powerful magic attack head on, but she knew that she could not. A true warrior who fights of her own accord, can be killed of her own accord. The best she could do was shout, “Gem, look out!” as she turned her attention back to the Ent, who had probably just signed Gem’s death sentence.
“Hey, Ent…” She spoke coolly, as she tensed up, her entire body coiling up like a tightly-wound spring as she readied the axe in her hands. With a powerful display of strength, and a battle cry for all the forest to hear echoed, she brought the axe up. “TIMBER, MOTHERFUCKER!”

No sooner had she spoken, than the tree and axe collided, flaming splinters being scattered everywhere as only one Ent remained, presumably to be taken down by Roku or Blake. In the meantime, the cat girl sat down, taking a breather as she realized the entire forest was on fire. That Gem girl sure was something else… Hopefully, she didn’t get massacred by the fireball, but Valdis didn’t turn to look. She merely sighed. What a day.

| Had he mentioned yet how much he loathed the other red-head? That Roku kid was absolutely terrible. From his pitiful behavior, to his inability to be of any use in battle. And now this dickhead was going to insult Blake? Really? When Roku himself had done little more than hide in bushes and rip his clothing off. It was obvious, though, who the real hero was here, and she had fallen.
Gem was the most likely of the group to survive, yet she was lying on the ground. She’d done a great job of fending off the ents, better than the rest of them had. Yeah, she’d set the forest on fire, but she’d taken the ents down with her. She couldn’t have been dead, right? Not yet, she was okay. Just a little hurt was all. Yeah, totally not dead. She was their only hope, even if there were only two of the tree monsters left to fight. “No, Gem! Hey, get up! The battle isn’t over yet!”
Blake readied himself for another attack, before pausing, his eyes widening. He was the target this time. Yeah, he was glad Gem was no longer their focus, but he didn’t care to be on the receiving end of any of this. “Oh shit.” He barely had time to register what was going on before he made his decisions.
First of all. Thorns were coming for him, and second of all, there was a fireball heading towards the already-incapacitated Gem. “She’s down, dammit! Leave. Her. Alone.” He could block it, yeah, he could do this. It was with gritted teeth that Blake dodged his own attack, leaping in front of the fireball. This was gonna hurt, this was gonna hurt bad. And it did. It hurt like something else, the flames licking at his skin. “Gyah!” It was too much, the heat was heavy, the flames suffocating, but he’d done his job. Gem was okay, and he himself wasn’t going to die…. Or, at least he hoped not.

When the heat dissipated, Blake could do nothing more than sink to his knees. Fuck it hurt, but he wasn’t going to cry in front of the others. A hero doesn’t cry, but he didn’t really consider himself such. A hero would have killed the ents, not themself. He’d only saved one, and even then he couldn’t do much in this state. With hardly any health left, he just crumpled. “Do it then, asshole.” Blake yelled, or tried to, though it came out hoarse and a bit strained. “Be a fucking hero, Roku.” Coughing, Blake let out a breath and fell, hoping that other two wouldn’t let an ent wouldn’t step on him while he was down. He was gonna get back up in a second, just needed to rest for a moment was all. He’d be fine.

[attr="class","next"]Roku flinched as he noticed the Ent had prepared to stomp him. This was it, he was going to die here because he had to get cocky. Well, at least he'd made a friend, right? It wasn't like this was a total loss, even if he would have to work his ass off to get the soul he was about to lose. He opened his eyes slowly, expecting the lush, familiar green of Genesis Park, but... Wait, he was alive? Looking around hurriedly, he found himself still in the forest, Gem having saved him and leaving the Ents either dead or in flames.
"Yes!" He gave a chuckle as Valdis slayed yet another of the tree beasts, but jerked as one of the ents hurled a fireball in Gem's direction. He charged forward ready to take the damage for her. That girl didn't deserve to die here, not after doing more than the rest of them combined. However, not being fast enough, he gritted his teeth as Blake reached her first and went up in flames.
"Hero? I'm no hero, you dumb bastard!" The redhead turned and looked onward at the final opponent. He was staring into what could only be the flaming mouth of death itself. "I guess I just have a death wish." With one last shout he ran forward, and slung Heart's Bane as hard as he could. He nearly dropped in surprise as the blade made contact, but, through some resolve, he managed to follow through, his blade carving straight through the Ent's charred leg and toppling it to the ground.
