| I am your beginning and your end Though there are many in which you seek your revenge on, you must do it carefully. No matter how damned the mind, you are allies until you reach battle. However, the battleground has no room for mercy. | 15(+1) HP 10(+1) MP +4(+1) STRENGTH +8(+1) ENDURANCE 0(+1) MAGIC 0(+1) BARRIER +4(+1) DEXTERITY +4(+1) SPEED | At this point in the conversation, Demise was already able to deduce without much effort that the Orcish brute and the smaller in comparison human had met in previouis encounters. From listening in to the chat that bounced back and fourth between the two it seemed that they had met in battle before. As Demise expected, the bigger and stronger took the victory from the story that was told. There was no surprise there. The big brute sat beside demise, and even to his size seemed to have a rather big appearance. Despite his size and rather intimidating look to some, Demise knew that it would be a fair battle of the two were to ever meet in combat. Demise reached for the midde of the table where the wine glass that they had been drinking from sat. At this point in the evening, it had seemed that the contents of the drink were rather low considering the amount that everyone there had been consuming. The one thing he could notice in the crowd around him was that whatever was contained within the bottle was placing them into a rather relaxed state. As they continued to drink, they seemed to ease themselves, slowly opening up more than when they first encountered each other. Clasiping onto the bottle, Demise drew it to his glass where he filled himself another glass before the others had the opportunity to have more. At least from listening to the conversations of the group, to Demise it seemed as if they were completely satisfied with whatever had greeted them in this afterlife. "It seems you are all not completely content with what has been given to us here. But since we all seem to be trapped here without escape, what are you all planning to make of it?" Demise knew what his intention was in this world, and that was power. Demise was determined to gain power and survive as he was unsuccessful in his previous life. Though he knew that the group contained the precious esence of power inside of them, it would be interesting to humor what they had hopes to make out of their short existance in this world. |

SCENERY CHANGE FRET NOT, WEARY TRAVELERS
As if to underline the demon's words, one by one many a firefly began to light upon the various plants around them. Soon they began to swarm en masse, though with no cruel intent, nor with the ferocity one may expect from more territorial insects. No, they simply took to the skies, dotting the sky and nearly seeming to add a new, blissful radiance to the already freshly starlit gardens. This would be a night of peace.

Norek's eyes followed the path of a small group of fireflies. The glowing bugs lifted from the ground into the sky and began to hover around the group. The gentle hum of the little bugs and the soft light seemed to call down an aura of calm and peace in this place. Any possible treat was dispelled. All aggression dispersed. Tonight was not a night for war or violence. Tonight was a night for words, the weapons of the civilized man. A game that Norek was rather good. He stayed up so many night just talking. Either to his brother or the many like minded people they had found in their travels. Norek returned his gaze to the table and took in the conversations around him. There was that phrase again 'remember who the enemy is'. A motto he lived by. Norek would first address Hunter, "Hunter, you very well may challenge me to a rematch. It's your right friend. All you need to do is ask." the orc gave him a smile. "Our artist friend is right though." Norek pointed to the musician in their ranks. "We need to remember who the real enemy is. It's this realm, Asgard." next the green skin gave Demise a sideways glance with his bright yellow eyes. "That's why I fight. That's what I do. I am not here for the rat race. I want to play the game, take out those who fall in line too easily and find a way to tear this whole thing down. A little anarchy is good for the spirit says I." Norek laughed. "But no. I say why hunt down poor saps that are just trying to scrape by. Why don't we get our souls and power from that beasties that already live here. Plenty to go around after all. Too often over looked me thinks." Norek casually put out the suggestion before taking another drink. He hoped they might like that idea. If he could form a band of people to fight with they might go farther than he ever thought they would. "So, Demise, that is why I am playing this game. Play to get strong enough to free people from the game. Why do you play, sai? To survive? For power? To save someone? Why did we all start" the next question was posed to the whole table. Who knows, maybe he would get some good answers.

Hunter's eye twitched slightly when the musician made his remark and bit back the torrent that threatened to pour from his mouth. Perhaps it wasn't his intent to insult, but it simply came across that way. People often spoke before they thought was an easy mistake to make. Now wasn't the time to get angry and start a fight over something so trivial. It was what the puppeteer wanted, and he refused to take part in needless fighting. If he needed to defend himself, so be it. But he'd never become one of the beings that skulked around, preying upon the weak and unfortunate. Hell, he may even try to hunt down the predators and show them how it felt to victimized.
Hunter looked to the pale one when he spoke, and thought a moment about what he said. There was only way out of this situation. Even then, it wasn't an escape, "They say that when you hit bottom, the only way to go is up." Hunter replied, lighting himself another cigarette, "So I plan on clawing my way to the top. Hell, maybe I'll be the next God of Asgard."
The words seemed absurd even to the one who spoke them, but there wasn't a thing in the world that would keep him from trying. Maybe getting that title would allow him to see his brother again. If he were among the many to perish in both realms, possibly he could gain the power to bring those lost back. Their soul had to go somewhere. Maybe it was only a matter of finding it again, "I started because of my little brother. He died years before me and I haven't seen him since then... I heard that he's here, but so far I've had zero luck." Hunter paused to take a drag on his cigarette, "So by fighting, I may get one step closer to him with each soul I claim."

[attr="class","tomhov"] | | | STRENGTH: 2 | ENDURANCE: 4 | MAGIC: 3 | BARRIER: 3 | DEXTERITY: 0 | SPEED: 2 | | | | words: 593 | Lookit him being all wordy and shit. God this is stupid sounding. |
| Why was he here, fighting in the games? The red haired musician paused and ran his thumb along the edge of the table, thinking as he did so. He hadn’t thought a lot about the games and his position in it. He actually hated being reminded of it, preferring to try to forget in hopes that the fear would just go away. He was still here though, and he would continue to fight on. He’d died once, on Earth of course, and didn’t really care to see what would happen if he ran out of souls.
As the orc proclaimed his own reasoning for continuing to fight on, the words struck some sort of inspiration. There were reasons. Those were reasons, if any, to continue. They were all members of this game, whether willing or not, and may as well play. Like Norek said, though, they didn’t have to be like the reckless fighters that were striving too hard for power. There were plenty of beasts around to kill anyway, small fries for collecting souls just in case you’re taken down in battle.
Zayne awaited his turn at speech, listening in as Hunter began speaking. He had high hopes, some that were way up there actually. He was probably exaggerating for effect, but the motivation was there. You never really knew anyway, where you’d go in life. Hell, maybe Hunter would be able to do it. “Good luck.” Zayne muttered to the man as he continued. He meant it, too. If there was anything anyone needed here in this death pit, it was words of encouragement and some type of reassurance that there was reason to live, to keep going even when things were as terrible as they were. But this here, this was a reminder of humanity. Four strangers gathered around, drinking and reminiscing about life. That was worth living (if you could really even call this such) for.
“I’m sorry for your brother.” Zayne glanced towards the man. “It’s terrible to have dead friends, but if you look at in a way, it means he’s here with you somewhere.” Zayne’s eyebrows furrowed a bit, pain clouding them slightly. “That’s kinda why I’m here. I’m fighting for a friend. She’s not here, though, and I’ll probably die for good before I get to see her again. But I’m glad she’s alive, I don’t want to see her down here. I fight for her, that’s why I’m around. She’d have wanted me to not give in.” Taking the bottle from the table, Zayne took a swig and let a small smile grace his features. “That, or laugh at me and proclaim that I’d dead.”
The laugh that bubbled from his lips was not one he himself had heard in a very long time. It was the alcohol, it had to have been, but the warmth that spread within him felt good. And with the way the night sky shone with the lights of tiny fireflies dancing about, Zayne felt a new wave of something different. He was beginning to feel whole again, a little less cold and dead on the inside. “Look at that.” He breathed, reaching out a hand for a firefly to land on. “Do you see this? It’s beautiful. There is life down here, gentle life. A reminder that not everything is worthless. So many lives, so many souls flittering about. They’re like us, if you think about it. Thousands of fireflies floating into the darkness. Not all is lost, friends. Use your own light, and let it guide you.”

| I am your beginning and your end Though there are many in which you seek your revenge on, you must do it carefully. No matter how damned the mind, you are allies until you reach battle. However, the battleground has no room for mercy. | 15(+1) HP 10(+1) MP +4(+1) STRENGTH +8(+1) ENDURANCE 0(+1) MAGIC 0(+1) BARRIER +4(+1) DEXTERITY +4(+1) SPEED | An interesting evening was about to dawn upon the group as the sky began to slowly illuminate with the glows of tiny fireflies, almost as to signify that the night ahead of them would be one done in peace. Demise gazed at the sky for a moment, though it was quite beautiful to tsee these thing illuminate the sky, it also interrupted the scenery of his night. The night was beautiful as it was. there was no need for these little creatures to come and try to make it glow as if they had longed for day to come sooner. Shortly into his thinking, Demise's thought was interrupted by Norek, the green orc speaking " "So, Demise, that is why I am playing this game. Play to get strong enough to free people from the game. Why do you play, sai? To survive? For power? To save someone? Why did we all start" He was rather interested that the green orc was interest in his reasons for coming here. though Demise knew what he wanted out of his thing here, he still pondered it for a moment. Not leaving them in silence, he spoke up "I am here to become omnipotent. I wish to rule over this domain and call it my own. How it will be is not something I worry about. I only worry about getting there." Demise remained silent after speaking up about his causes, so that everyone else surrounding the table may have their chance to speak. it was rather interesting hearing what the others had to say, though some of the reasons seemed rather pointless. Besides the Orc, it seemed the others had come here in search of others who had departed before even they arrived in this world. Demise thought this was a petty reason considering the situation they were in. There were several people who died daily, but Asgard was not abundant with those arriving daily. It was foolish to spend one's life searching for anohter being. However if it got them through their day, Demise was not the one to ruin that.
